Process Optimization

Launching a continuous improvement initiative of some kind has become the norm for a large number of organizations across the globe today.  The aim is to often reinvent themselves as superior competitors, fine tuned to customer needs and robust to adverse changes in business conditions.

The names of such initiatives vary across business sectors and geographical boundaries such as Total Quality Management (TQM), Working For Quality (WFQ), Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Operational Excellence, etc.  The common theme across all of these initiatives remains the ultimate goal of optimizing the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of the business processes to improve efficiencies, service and costs.

Despite the improvement methodologies offering clear and consistent roadmaps to implementation, success in implementing such Programs are varied.  The reason for the variation is whilst most methodologies offer steps that are necessary to achieve success; they are neither sufficient nor exhaustive.  DCI addresses this issue through a proven methodology called Six Sigma (6
σ).
